Part Number: 0900-15, 0900-17, 0900-19, 0900-21, 0900-33, 0900-38 Q: How do I set the polarity on my AC adapter or car cord adapter? A: Make sure you know the proper polarity for the device you are trying to power before plugging in the AC adapter or car cord adapter. The polarity is usually indicated by a symbol next to the plug jack on your device. If the polarity is not indicated it may also be found in the instruction manual for your device or by contacting the manufacturer of the device. CAUTION: Do not connect the adapter to your device if you are unsure of the correct polarity requirements. It is the user's responsibility to determine the correct polarity for the device they are trying to power. Look for the part of the polarity symbol that is shaped like the letter "C". The open side of the "C" points toward the proper "tip" or "center" polarity. If the polarity symbol is as shown in Figure 1, then the open side of the "C" is pointing towards the "+" sign indicating that this device requires "tip" or ""center" "positive" polarity. Attach the adapter plug tip as shown in figure 2. You should then attach the plug tip as shown in figure 2, lining up the word "TIP" on the end of the cord with the "+" symbol on the plug tip. If the polarity symbol is as shown in Figure 3, with the open side of the "C" pointing towards the "-" symbol, then the required polarity is "tip" or "center" "negative". Attach the adapter plug tip as shown in Figure 4 by lining up the word "TIP" on the end of the cord with the "-" symbol on the plug tip.
